Treatment

Part of a fully qualified hand therapy specialist team with extensive experience in dealing with hand injuries at BMI London clinics.

Treatment following surgery

Numerous surgical procedures are available to improve hand function following trauma or an acquired condition, such as osteoarthritis or Dupuytren's. Aims of treatment will be to protect healing structures where necessary and advance you through a programme of hand therapy that will include advice about your condition, functional re-training, exercise therapy and potentially splinting should you require this.

Sports Injuries

Returning to sport following a hand injury can be extremely difficult. We aim to tailor your treatment and rehabilitation to meet the specific needs of your chosen sport whether this is for recreational purposes or of a professional nature. A wide range of treatment techniques including exercise prescription, splinting, functional and sports specific rehabilitation can be combined together to achieve the best possible outcome.

Musicians

Musicians use their hands for a complex variety of movements including precision, power and control. Treatment and rehabilitation including exercise prescription, splinting, functional and instrument specific rehabilitation programme will be tailored to achieve the best possible outcome.

Wrist conditions

The wrist obviously connects your hand to the rest of your arm but in doing this it has to combine flexibility, a stable base of support for hand function and transmit force created in the hand through the rest of the arm. This is a complex balancing act that following hand injury can be difficult to return. Whether you have sustained a traumatic fracture or ligament injury; whether you have an acquired condition such as osteoarthirits or have undiagnosed wrist pain we aim to assess your individual symptoms in order to improve the complex functions of your wrist.
